I am repairing my water main shutoff valve. Is it ok to use bronze fittings into a brass ball valve? I am in Montana. Thanks

Brass, Bronze, Muntz metal, copper, Yellow and Red brass are all compatible to mix

Bronze is around 12% tin and the rest copper Red Brass is 85% copper and 15% zinc Yellow brass is 60% copper and 40 % zinc this is why you get dezincification which causes the alloy to become brittle

Thanks for the info. I read to never mix bronze with brass because galvanic corrosion can happen. I guess its bad info?
