So it looks like the person that did the joints in this sprinkler system didn't do a very good job as the pvc pipe has separated from the pvc slip fitting here. You can see where the fitting used to be from where the blue pvc primer or cement is. What is the best way to fix this? I really don't want to have to dig up a lot but would like to be able to just fix this directly in the hole. Is that possible?

sorry, you have to fully excavate. Know that you cannot re-cement over old cement, only clean, white pipe will make a good joint.

Want to gamble $6-$9 plumbers epoxy ( plumbing dept hardware box store)It comes in a plastic tube looks like clay cut a piece off mix it between hands mold it to pipe and fitting. Roll it between palm to make string out of it. Wet a finger to smooth it out. Clean surfaces inspection mirror for the bottom. Dries hard 2-4 hours. Have water hammer?
