First time well "owner" and was looking for some advice /options.
Last year had the pleasure of having a pump die down our 400' well in the middle of winter (12 years old, wire chafed on the casing at the pump). Such is life, the good news, a local crew did great job of pulling the pump (upgrade from 1.5 to 2hp). Pump is set around 200ft, 1.25 poly up to the top of the casing (water level seems to run 20-100 ft...tho... I may need to do a little more work sorting exactly how far it will drop during seasonal demand ).
THe Well Head is located on a insulated /heated room, from the head, the line is dropped to 1" poly, Passes through what is best described as an oil derrick of Galvanized Barb and pipe fitting, over an 8' ceiling, back down to a T that distributes to a irrigation system then into the ground for a 150' 1" poly trip to the house with a 20' rise.
The goal is to clean up the setup, remove all the galvanized fitting, reduce as many fittings as possible and hopefully lower the stress on the pump. (The run to house is going to remain. 1").
My question.... From the well head, I would like to run 1.25 poly straight up and in an arc across the room back down to a single T for distribution on a wall 8' accros the room (this would eliminate at least 10 fittings), is this going to work? Can I expect the 1.25 black poly to handle what is essentially a combination of 2 x 3' radius turns?
Btw, I have pretty much unlimited support points and mounting options.
I remember the 1.25 was a bit of a wrestling match coming out and back into the well....of course it was -5 C and I got the joy of being the flunky dragging the full line up the hill!
Thanks
Martin
