Bench testing a submersible pump?

Actually anything close to a 13 gallon trash can will work. Just recirculate the water so the trash can doesn't empty out. Using a pressure gauge before a ball valve can help you simulate down hole pressure.

Do you want to test if it works or do you want to test Flow rate and/or pressure? A barrel will be more than enough to see if it works, but if you want to test flow/pressure you will need some gauges as well.
