I have just taken out the old waste drain in my bath tub (with a srew driver and pair of pliers) and am about to replace it with a new one.
should I put some kind of putty in between the flange and the tub?
There is a gasket/rubber seal underneath the tub, but I am afraid that it will leak somehow:confused::confused::confused:

Thank you

Use plumber's putty between the flange and the tub. You may want to invest in a channel locks for this job.
