I’m probably going to get laughed out of this forum, but please understand I’m a 50 yr old single woman that has no choice but to try and get things done myself.
I had a major blockage between my kitchen sink and bathtub (back wall of my house) just went back and forth from one side to the other and then just filled with water too much to deal with trying to unclog. “Mr.Smart” bought me what he said would work (Liquid Fire!!) and before I made him stop had put at least 1/2 bottle down bath drain over 24 hr period - Did Not Work! I bought the blow up thing you connect to your water faucet and something popped out of my pipe on roof and done! Now drain in bathtub totally gross and I took apart (gave replaced this before) lever with up and down with weight to control water flow. When I put it back together lever would not hold in place. I bought a new lever with new drain plug, measured for length and it would not go in. Nothing I did would get it right and when I did get it to go low enough to screw back to the tub the lever would not move. Got a camera to look down in there and plug could not get low enough to plug up water. So decided I would put cover where lever was and buy drain stopper. After 4 different ones and 2 rubber plugs I realized I was going to have to get this out. It’s cross bar was so close to the tub level nothing would work. Bought tool, tried every tip I could find and it would not budge. Now razor blade, heat gun and other contraptions to try and release the r of it from porcelain tub. NOTHING! But now I’ve destroyed my tub and it’s still in there. Do I have to buy a new tub?!!? This house was built in 1989. Sorry so long just desperate! (My plumber is even putting me off) There is a before I tried to get it out pic and after attached.
