Bathtub "bucket/plunger" piece fell down backflow? Lever and is stuck in Crossbar? Part? Please help

If you do cut the wall, they do make snap on panels to cover the hole.
These panels pop right over the hole, and have wings to hold them in place.

Oh my Goodness! Your words of encouragement and to slow down and play around with it gave me the will to keep trying... I just kept moving the wire up down back and forth and finally i pulled up and boom! Out it came!!! Thank you so much!!!! And that is vety good to know about the wall for future, hopfully not, reference!

Do u think there are more peices than that?
Here is what the parts look like. If you can't assemble enough parts to put back in, they do make a push/pull stopper that fits the lower drain and you can forget about the bucket.
