Ok, I did it, I am installing a tub, and hired a plumber to install the valve - cost me over $600, and when I added the drywall the stub is about 3/4" too short. I was looking at a "slip adapter" - do you think that would work? I cannot afford to call a plumber again.... I am using a moen tub/shower combination.

What do you have?

Do you have a piece of 1/2 inch copper pipe (5/8 OD) sticking out of the finished wall by 0.5 inches and you want it sticking out 1.25, or what?

Do you plan to stop at the drywall, or are you planning to put something that is waterproof outside of the drywall?

What spout are you intending to use?

There are other tub spouts that allow a coupling on the 1/2" stub and can be made longer. Delta is one of those.

This is an extremely low use tub (for the dog), I am using green board (I know, not the best), and then tile over that. I really want to stay with the moen matching tub spout.

FRP panels are cheap and waterproof. I don't know how important decor is for this.

How do you know that 3/4 is the right amount to extend? It is easier to extend longer.

Can you send me a link to the moen one - I too would prefer that, everything I have in the house is moen, I would prefer to stay with that.
