Basement Utility Sink Backflow Valve

I was diagnosing the drain pump in our basement utility sink that pushes water up about 5 feet vertically and then runs horizontal for about another 12 or so feet before running into the main drain pipe that runs eventually into our septic on the other side of the basement. This is all upstream of our three bathrooms’ waste pipes that run in closer to the outlet into the septic. The only thing upstream of this are the drain for our washing machine (floor above) and another utility sink in our wash room.

When disconnecting the pump, I stupidly removed the back flow valve causing quite a bit of water sitting in the sink pump drainage pipe to leak back out (about a quarter of a bucket’s worth). I caught most of it in a bucket but quite a bit did leak onto the basement floor. The water smelled like a mixture of stale mildew and iron deposits but not septic.

Is there any possibility that this water was mixed with septic/sewage water? There are no signs that my drain system has any clogs and everything functions as normal. The bathrooms’ waste would have to back flow the wrong direction for there to be any possibility of it taking the route to the utility sink. I just want to make sure as my OCD was triggered by this.

Thanks!
