Wondering if the attached diagram is an okay way to run waste plumbing for a basement shower and WC. Not sure if the WC would siphon water from the shower trap? Appreciate any advice.

Thanks

The shower needs a vent before it enters in below the toilet.
Okay, Thanks! Could the shower vent be run horizontally first, similar to what's shown in the attached updated diagram?

Or you could run it this way and keep the vent vertical.
The vent fitting would be a combo. Inspectors like to see and end of line cleanout. The vent could serve as both.
For a bath group, you need at least a 2" vent. Normally showers are run with 2".

Thanks for advice/alternative and quick response! Really appreciate it! Was planning on putting a cleanout on the vent as you mentioned.

Also have a wife with long hair which always seems to clog our tub/shower trap, so I thought using a 3" trap/drain pipe would help in terms of clogging up the trap? Maybe not though? Thoughts?

I would go with 2" on the shower drain. What helps is to ream the end of the pipes before gluing. Sometimes pipes are cut with saws, and left unreamed, which are a great way to catch hair as it tries to make it's way down the drain. A box knife does a good job of cleaning up the ends.
