Hi. We recently bought a house with a half bath in the basement. The realtor said the bathroom was plumbed for a shower. The bathroom is quite small with a vanity/sink on the left side of the wall and toilet on the back wall. Considering the remaining space, we don’t see how a shower would even fit in the space without expanding the bathroom which is what we plan to do. Any ideas on how to go about locating the shower drain IF it was in fact roughed in when this bathroom was built? Could it be outside of the half bathroom under the flooring?

You just have to look, hard to say what someone else might consider shower rough. To me there should be a void in the floor with a trap and vent. They could've just left a pipe for later and poured the concrete over it.

Also, if its in a planned development, likely there would be blueprints available showing a lot of layout options for stuff like that. Or you might find similar in your neighbors homes.
