Recently had a flooded basement and the floor drain didn't allow water to drain. I cleaned the mess and tried to snake it with no success. I pumped water through the other end (leads to sump pump) and the water flows up through the drain but will not drain down. I am thoroughly confused on how to resolve this, and what the issue is.

Flows one way, but not the other? Dumb question from me as I don’t know what we’re looking here, something acting like a check valve? you try and snake it from the sump end?

Does the plumbing in the basement go to a sump basin with pump? Normally those will have an output with a check valve going to a line that is higher up.
Did you snake the line from the floor drain?
Is the pump operating?
