Hello! Thank you in advance for any insight. I recently purchased a restaurant that is in a historic 100+ year old building. All of the floor drains work fine, except the main kitchen drain. I was told it was installed incorrectly years and years ago without a vent. Any small amount of water will overflow it into the dining room. The floor is concrete. The previous owner had plumbers out and was basically stumped and lived with it. Does anyone know of any way to fix this? I want to put a dishwasher in but with that drain being the only one anywhere near it, I need it to work properly. Thank you so much!!

Bad venting will not cause overflow.

Get the drain lines cleaned out by somebody who specializes in drain cleaning. Usually an independent operator, not a chain, will be better at that from what I have heard.
