I would like to add a utility sink in the unfinished part of our basement that backs up to an existing bathroom sink. What is the best way to do the drain plumbing?

Add a santee below the lav trap arm and run the new trap arm for the laundry sink.
I see you have 2" on the vertical. The will allow the lav over the laundry sink. You will want the drain a little lower anyway.
