I just had a 1 hp deep well pump installed. I only turn it on when I need to . if I crimp the hose will the pump eventually shut off, what happens when the pressure builds up? Thanks for any help.

Do not crimp the hose or stop the flow as the motor will be destroyed in a few minutes. Adding a switch is good if used often. But when only turning on a few times a year you can just use the breaker.
