Our instant propane water heater suddenly stopped after years of faithful service. Checked the troubleshooting guide in the manual but there were no tips relating to this problem. Any ideas? Thanks.

There were no tips about not producing hot water in the troubleshooting guide? Nothing suggested checking the electrical power source or the supply of propane, for example?

Oh sorry. No, the pilot light won't light. Found a manual online and will follow the cleaning tips. Here's the first paragraph of the Troubleshooting section:

TROUBLE SHOOTING (see maintenance table)
Introduction
The AquaStar 125B burners are activated by a water flow
valve. Numerous water related problems can cause this water
valve to malfunction such as: Insufficient water flow volume
to activate the burners at its minimum flow requirement;
Dirt in the water flow valve causing it to malfunction;
Sediment build-up in faucet aerators, or shower heads;
Uneven pressures between cold and hot. (with single lever
faucets) Plumbing cross overs. These water flow related
problems can cause the heater to deliver less than its full
output, or to fail to ignite or to shut down completely.

The first thing you need to do is get the Pilot to light and stay lit.

Then go from there.

Do you see Spark when you press the Ignition ? Do you smell gas when you try to light it ?

Water Flow has nothing to do with the Pilot not lighting.

Got it working again. Took the cover off and there was a lot of powdery dust on everything. Brushed and blew it off and checked the screen. Tested it again and the pilot light stayed lit. Hope that fixes the problem. Thanks for the suggestions. :)
