I have a 1/3 HP primary pump that empties my 18" diameter by 26" deep pit every 2 - 3 minutes during a heavy rain (the pit is not full when it empties, maybe 20" full). Would an Aquanot II be a good backup for me / how long would it last in my case?

I could also do a SumpPro battery backup. I was looking at the Gentronics PHCC 1/3 HP pump to go along with the SumpPro battery backup as it only uses 4.5 amp, so it would last longer on a battery than say a Mighty Mate 53 at 9.7 amp, but would it make good primary pump as well? Some say to stay away from the Gentronics PHCC pumps.

My pump goes off multiple times every day rain or shine.

Thanks!

Two votes for the Aquanot, high quality rugged stuff. Good choice.

I am not an Aquanot rep. :D
