I know next to nothing about home hot water heaters.
I know it's a long shot, but I've included some pix and was wondering if anyone could give me a clue what is wrong with this unit and if it can be fixed.
Several other external components look fairly new as if they had been replaced at some point.
It's lightly leaking and as you can see, something has gone catastrophically wrong.
I am full time guardian of a soon to be 95 year old woman. This is her house and she has very little money. It's very tough to trust anybody nowadays and I don't know anybody personally who has any expertise in these areas.
If it really does need to be replaced, that's a big problem because she doesn't have the money.
As the title says, ANY help whatsoever would be immensely appreciated,
