Anti-scald setting

I'm trying to check the anti-scald setting on the faucet in my guest shower. Water temperature in the rest of the house is fine so I don't think it's the water heater setting. My dilemma is I can't figure out how to take the handle off. I don't see any brand name or access to any screws anywhere. We just moved in a couple of months ago.

Would a strap wrench be necessary? I can't really figure out a different way to get a grip on it. I did see that it's a Kohler faucet. Couldn't see it before as it's pretty faint.
