I'm seeing that some well tanks are now coming with anti microbial coatings. Like the amtrol well xtrol's liner is coated with some silver crap to kill bacteria. Does anyone have any good info on this stuff? It seems a bit gimmicy and like it will eventually be found to be a problem like antibacterial hand soaps are nowadays.

I do know that is doesn't help a thing once the bladder is broken. Some really nasty stuff can come out of that tank if the bladder has been broken for any length of time. But if the bladder doesn't break, I don't see the need. Fresh and clean water goes in and out with every pump cycle. They should spend more on making the bladder last than trying to keep bacteria from growing after the bladder does break.

No response from Amtrol unfortunately, other than the marking documents out there
