I checked out 3 sonoma alcove bathtubs and this one was the best. Amerian standard told me that their tubs should all be straight. All three were pristine except for the fact they aren’t straight so my guess it is from the manufacturering process. Would you expert installers be afraid of this? Is this common or just a bad string of tubs coming off the line?

When we install, we use the 2x4 ledger system and that insures stability and level. the apron being out even after the tub is set, if it bothers you, replace for sure. Why would you use simple porcelain on steel cheap crap instead of high quality Americast? Going cheap on materials is never a good choice.
It can always be a challenge to have a tub not wobble, so check and double check by having someone jump in the tub while you have your fingers on the ledge to make sure it is secure.

So all other tub except for American standard porcelain tubs are straight, lengthwise and widthwise ?
