I have two American Standard Cadet 3 toilets. I like them except for the plastic nuts on the closet bolts. I have to constantly tighten them. Does anyone else have this trouble? Wondering if I can switch the plastic nut for a metal one.

Normally the plastic nuts thread down on 1/4" brass bolts. If they are coming loose, there maybe something else going on there. If a bowl is flat to the floor, and caulked most of the way around, it stays solid. If the bowl is moving, perhaps the bowl needs shimming. The bolts by themselves are not enough.
