I recently have been having issues with acidic water eating all the pex brass fittings in my house and just yesterday it murdered my 20+ yr old well pump and 23yr old water heater simultaneously. The pH is 5.5 but was tested a year ago at 6.8 by a external water lab. My well guy said it can fluctuate. My concern is the acid Neutralizer system pushing the pH too high when it balances out. Is there any system that continuously monitors pH and only runs when its low? In any case I want to install it myself because they quoted 2500$ and even the priciest models are only $1000. I would like some advice on the price difference between these two: the one site has a nice top fill plug for media but is nearly double the other one. Is $500 too cheap or is the other site a rip off? Please help, thanks in advance.
