Acid Neutralizer recommendations?

I recently have been having issues with acidic water eating all the pex brass fittings in my house and just yesterday it murdered my 20+ yr old well pump and 23yr old water heater simultaneously. The pH is 5.5 but was tested a year ago at 6.8 by a external water lab. My well guy said it can fluctuate. My concern is the acid Neutralizer system pushing the pH too high when it balances out. Is there any system that continuously monitors pH and only runs when its low? In any case I want to install it myself because they quoted 2500$ and even the priciest models are only $1000. I would like some advice on the price difference between these two: the one site has a nice top fill plug for media but is nearly double the other one. Is $500 too cheap or is the other site a rip off? Please help, thanks in advance.

Most online companies are not worth buying from. Since this is an assembled component they will find every possible way to source the lowest priced components and many will even use counterfeit parts... Regardless, do you have an actual water report? Yes they do make auto adjusting pH systems but they are not worth the complexity, calibration requirements etc... We need to see what is in the water report to make an actual recommendation as to the proper water treatment method. pH control is done with several possible methods.

I can get one for sure. What would I ask a lab for specifically? The well guy that replaced my pump tested my water because the pump had holes in it from acidic water. It came back 5.5 ph, 0.5 iron and 0 hardness. and I have some blue stains in my tubs but not sinks. Also where would I buy the acid Neutralizer components from then?

It is advisable to obtain a comprehensive lab test so as to better understand the broad range of conditions. Often, other conditions may influence which method will be preferred or recommended to address the problem to be corrected.

National Labs offer a Standard Well package that will provide the appropriate data. http://watercheck.myshopify.com/?aff=5
