Tried unscrewing it. Had no threads on that metal connection. Anyone know the easiest way to replace this line?

Sometimes I cut behind the stop. They are supposed to spin off, but it's a bit tricky with CPVC. That stuff is very brittle.
There is a metal keeper that holds it on. Sometimes I cut a section out of the stop and using a screwdriver bend the clip and that tends to release the grip. That has worked on copper stubouts, but plastic changes the game.
