Hello,

I am located in Tucson Arizona and I am remodeling a unit that shares a common wall with the second unit so there are back to back fixtures. I have old cast iron plumbing in 4" and was looking to replace it. Originally I was going to contract out the repipe but was quoted $7,000 so I am deciding to do it myself. I have attached a diagram of the DWV plumbing that i anticipate to install, but ran into a couple questions that i circled in red as well as highlighted.

1. The red circle on the toilet is a 4" 45 degree double wye with a 45 degree street elbow and a 90 degree long turn street elbow up to 4" flange. (Per the IPC 706.3 for back to back toilets a san tee is permitted as long as the developed length is 18"). It is a smaller bathroom so the length right now is about 13" where the original cast iron is and cant move it any further into the room as it will interfere with the already smaller door. Would this setup work to shorten the distance while still maintaining 12" code requirement?

2. The second red circle is on the yellow vent pipe is a 2" 90 degree double elbow, is this allowed? Also is the highlighted vent even necessary for the the shower and shared sink? or can i delete that out and wet vent both showers and both sinks?

3. The Third circle is also a 45 degree double wye with a 45 degree street elbow, would this configuration work in the horizontal position or would i split up the connections with two separate 4" long radius tee wyes?

4. Also please let me know if there is a better way to connect the 2" pipes into the 4" pipes (I'm using reducing bushings)

Please let me know if you need any clarification and as always I appreciate your help and this amazing community forum.

Thank you!
