Are they any good? Will one work for a toilet, sink and shower? Or just another gimmick? Thanks

You can vent an entire bathroom with an Auto Air Vent. You do need at least one atmospheric vent through the roof somewhere in the system. I have used them to add a bathroom to an existing home.

THey aren't allowed everywhere. That also will fail eventually, so need to be placed where they can be accessed for eventual replacement. If possible, it's better to avoid them, but they definitely can make some things easier. They also won't work everywhere in every situation.

As noted above, Like all components in your home, they will fail eventually. Place it somewhere that it can have free access to air, won't be obtrusive and can be maintained when it does fail and needs to be replaced... by the next homeowner.
