Hello,
I have a Fleck 5600SXT 10x44 tank with 1.25 (I know, odd size) of Aldex C-800x10 media. What is the recommended backwash GMP rate? The DLFC is 3.00 on this unit. The chart from Aldex on the spec sheet lists GPM per SQUARE foot for expanding the media, which I though was odd. Are they referring to the surface area of the media in the tank? If it's supposed to be Cu Ft, then I would need a DLFC of around 9 which is way too high for residential. What am I reading wrong here?

For anyone interested, Aldex replied to my inquiry to them via email.
The chart on the spec sheet references the surface area of the bed. For my 10" tank, that's .545 sq ft.
At 70 degrees F and 50% expansion, the chart says about 6.25GPM. (I'm in AZ, so I have higher average intake temp)

Multiply that by the .545 surface area to get about 3.4 GPM DLFC. Round up to the 3.5 washer.

I keep reading on here that 2.4GPM is sufficient for a 10" tank, but for this media, that is only true for 40 degree water.
