Thanks gentleman. Is there any concern about using antiseize on the mating surface in a potable water application? Would it work better than megaloc? On the Union threads I do have a copper antiseize I got for working with electrical conduits once. Do you think the antiseize on the threads might make the nut more likely to back off and leak over the years?

No and no. I use it all the time and I haven't had a problem. The longest on I have going is a copper union on a recirculation system in one of my houses. It's been two years

Looks good to me. All is doing is helping things slide together tighter it's not magic. If the mating surfaces don't mate the hope would be to smash them together. No matter what lube you use (because dope is just lube) the surfaces have to be close enough to mate.
