2 inch PVC along joist

I need to run 2 inch pvc along a joist (parallel to, not underneath it) for a new drainpipe. What's the easiest way to secure it while also keeping a level on it to ensure the proper slope?
I purchased a bunch of HAP System hangars (https://www.homedepot.com/p/HAP-SYS...and-2-1-2-in-Copper-pipe-PL-1111-23/314482639) but they hold the pipe snugly which would make it difficult to push forward into the hub and twist after applying primer and cement. Any recommendations?

Temporarily support, glue up, snap on hangers, then use level to finalize height at each hanger location, screw hanger into side of joist?

I am picturing the pipe being between joists or hanging partially below.

This makes the most sense. I'm trying to figure out what to use for a temporary support. I'm thinking some kind of a telescoping tension bar would be easiest since I could slide it up and down to set the slope, but I can't find one short enough to fit in a joist bay.
