Hi All -

Any thoughts on what this shower valve may be? We took it to a couple of old timer plumbing suppliers and have been looking on the Ferguson Stem website, but can't see to narrow down what this one might be. Best guess is this hasn't been changed since the house was built in late 1930's early 1940's.

There is a hot and cold handle, and there used to be a diverter, but they capped it and just put on a new tub spout with diverter.

When we take the stem to the suppliers they tell us it is a 12 for length when they are trying to find a replacement for it. Not sure what next steps to take. Would like not to have to tear the whole thing apart as there are back to back tiled bathrooms that is still in really good shape and looks great.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Is there a reason you don't want to change your valve in the wall? If you have plumbing from the 1980's I would suggest changing it let alone the 1930's.
