Hello all,

I just moved into a 1924 old home, and I am wondering if it is normal to have a bit of water flow in my cast iron downstairs drain? The water is slowly flowing, and it doesn't seem to be rising.

Thank you!

Its likely ground water. Probably a bit normal back in the day.. not so much nowdays. I've got a client who has an entire creek that runs under their home built in the 60's..

I would recommend scoping the line with a camera to see where it goes and to ensure its not connected to the sewer.
