1/4 bend with Low heel inlet

I would like to connect a 3 inch horizontal waste line to a vertical line with a 1/4 bend that has a 2" low heel inlet pointing up. I would then like to connect a 2 inch waste line serving the shower and one lav to that 2" low heel inlet. I want to do this because while the lav and shower drains can run inside one joist bay, the toilet (which will have its own vent) has to run below several 2 x8 Joists to reach the vertical drain. This seems like the ideal fitting for this purpose, which of course makes me worry!

I'm not sure of the answer, but here's the controlling language from your plumbing code:

Seems like you can achieve the same connectivity with a 3" sanitary tee with a 3x2 bushing on top, which would certainly be OK. I'm not really clear on the advantage/disadvantage (if any) of that arrangement vs what you propose.

Ive done that with a LHO and with a 3inch san tee bushed down on top. Either way fine , but thinking about it why buy a fitting and a bushing? might be a few dollars cheaper one way or another , which makes a difference. I should know this .
I see no performance advantage either way

Thanks, guys! There's a perfectly good reason why I didn't design this with a 3" san-tee and reducing bushing: I didn't think of it!

It might make it clearer, and more sense, if you just called it a 3x2x3 sanitary tee, which it actually is.

We call them lowheel outlets here not santees . actually never heard anyone call it a santee . regional thing I guess. We got a closet bend here called an Arizona bend don't know what they call them in Arizona

Around here we used to call a 4x3 hub x hub an Arizona bend, a regular closet bend didn't get that name. guys I worked with called them that. I thought you called the LHO a santee but I got it yes essentially it is a santee
