I am trying to add a connection adapter from cold/hot water supply line to tub filler. The tub filler is AKDY TF0021 (https://www.homedepot.com/p/AKDY-1-...r-with-Hand-Shower-in-Chrome-TF0021/300943794). Attached is picture of the water line in the tub filler. My hot/cold water supply line is 1/2'' PEX. So I need an adapter fitting of 1/2'' PEX * 3/8'' Male thread fitting under the finished floor.

However, most common adapter fitting I've found for this purpose is adapter valve with stop (https://www.homedepot.com/p/BrassCr...CxpVqtHdlGxoCX5IQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds#overlay). Because this fitting will be under the finished floor so it might not be necessary to have a stop. The only other option is I could find is this 1/2 in. Barb x 3/8 in. MIP Brass Adapter Fitting (https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbil...ULMDnqp3g6Fw_SqKWtRoCu5sQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds). Any suggestion which one to use?

With a supply line like that, I would think the supply line has to remain accessible after installation (but perhaps I'm mistaken). A supply stop would then be the appropriate way to connect the PEX to the supply line, and would allow shutting off the water to change the supply line.

Cheers, Wayne

It is a floor mounted tub filler by screws. So the supply line will be partially accessible. Good point on future need of changing supply line. I will use the one with stop.
