    Rope tied to pitless adapter?

This was put in wrong area of forum, but there ended up being a brass coupler with an eyelet on it, that the pitless threaded into on one end and pipe on other end.

How do you secure conduit to steel well casing?

Yeah, meant an intermediate strap to secure it to outside casing for added support. Thanks for the replies. Gave me some ideas.

How do you secure conduit to steel well casing?

Extended a (5" ID / 5.563" OD) steel well casing to around 2' above grade, and extended the 3/4" conduit for the wiring which now needs a clean anchoring method to keep it stable against the casing. While the dirt and cap keep the conduit straight, want 1 or 2 clamps to secure it snugly to the...

Ways to add pressure cut-off to well pump?

That Leak Defender looks really interesting and would be perfect for a slab floor that water can set on. Thanks for the link.

Ways to add pressure cut-off to well pump?

Have a well pump and slab house. Kinda worried that if something ever ruptured or broke, and wasn't caught immediately, it'd flood the house. Well first flood HVAC floor vents until they filled up the entire system then flood the house. Have insurance, but would rather avoid the potential issue...

Heavy water pipe condensation using outside spigot?

Thanks for the advice and info everyone. I'll wrap the cold side and the tank. Thankfully everything is still exposed right there. The well water temperature (at the tub after running about 5 minutes) was about 58.5 F. Actually colder than I'd have thought. But running the cold non-stop in the...

    Extending well casing, need advice

Thanks for the tips. Trying to find a half coupler or even a coupler was too much a pita finding one in the 5" pipe size. Even local supply shops were frustrating and waste of time (got quoted $1250 for a Threadolet, stated I wanted a half coupling and was quoted $1075 for a $50 coupler) or only...

    Extending well casing, need advice

After cleaning old pipe section, realized it was pretty damaged around the rim and irregular, so disc cut about 5/8" off the top to level it and give better area to weld off and flapper wheeled everything including pitless mounting area of pipe. It passed the steel "spark grinding test" so not...

Heavy water pipe condensation using outside spigot?

T off is a good 10 feet away from where it enters up from floor near tank. Sweating only happens to main when that interior spigot requests water from the T. Can run sink, shower, toilet, etc., and zero sweating, but from the spigot constant sweating. Wasn't sure if the water was somehow...

Heavy water pipe condensation using outside spigot?

Have a private well and a slab foundation on block. No crawl space. Water line "T's" off under/in the slab as far as I can tell. From there, one branch pops up through the slab floor, and is the main cold water feed for the house, and goes immediately to a valve, and feeds pressure tank and can...

    Extending well casing, need advice

Went ahead and just ordered a 6' section locally ($110). Another place could thread it ($15) and get a coupler ($85) though I'm just going to weld the pipe in instead and save $100. It has a boss where the pitless goes through, so hopefully it's steel.

    Extending well casing, need advice

Boycedrilling, do you have a link to a 5.563" OD pipe coupler? Everything online seems to be 3" or 4" or under. I'll call around this week as shipping from that site is more than the actual pipe and see about threading costs.

    Extending well casing, need advice

Hmm. After careful consideration, looks like butt-welding a pipe in will be the less fuss and a cheaper route since I already have a welder. Can't find any legit 5" weld-in fittings (4" and under seems to be a common size) and the 4" ones are around $120. Dresser couplings are kinda pricey too...

    Extending well casing, need advice

Quote: "Can just but weld a pipe in, but like the idea of being able to remove the extension in case something down the line happens, or a future owner has issues with the pitless, they could unthread and have easier access."

    Extending well casing, need advice

What about a threaded coupler to weld to the original pipe (even buttweld), so the extension can be threaded in and/or removed. Basically what this guy did in this video (threaded pipe on one end of extension) but with a coupler instead of a Dresser. Can just but weld a pipe in, but like the...

    Extending well casing, need advice

OK, typing "5.563" OD" steel pipe got hits and brought up a bunch of options for the actual pipe, but zero luck finding a coupler.

    Extending well casing, need advice

Thanks for replies. Well was dug in 1963, Ohio, so whatever they were using around that time. It's probably steel. Assumed they used the same thing as home sewer pipes, so was thinking "cast iron." Pitless appears to have a welded-in bung for it to sit in. Going off the chart from the link...

    Extending well casing, need advice

Also, instead of a dresser coupler, are there standard couplers with threading on at least one end that could be used? That is, a threaded coupler meant to be welded vs. being a compression fitting? Like the idea of a coupler being on the original casing, and having an extension threaded into...

    Extending well casing, need advice

Well casing is cast iron (or is it steel?), about 4-5 feet below grade and stops. Previous owner (guy was here 40 something years and touched every, SINGLE, INCH of the property, inside and out, to my detriment) apparently used some type of 6" rubber coupler with stainless clamps and silicone...
