    Staining countertop - Advice needed

OK. They have to come out to reinforce a fissure in the slab...I'll push them hard on the stain. I'm sick thinking this is permanent.

    Staining countertop - Advice needed

We had granite tops in our previous house. Never any issues. We've been in this house less than a month. Another stain showed up across the aisle next to the range top...much much smaller...but it too is not fading. The stain "seems" to be getting fainter. not smaller, but fainter. But...

    Staining countertop - Advice needed

I have sealer ready to go...but shouldn't I wait for this to dry before "sealing" in the moisture? And, would multiple coats of this work for sealing the hole...or should that be coated with epoxy or something?

    Staining countertop - Advice needed

To be clear, I am the homeowner. I no longer believe Moen's faucet is to blame. I believe its water from cleaning the countertop getting in to the faucet hole and getting absorbed by the stone. Its only a theory. I put a small heater under the sink to try and dry from the "unsealed" side...

    Staining countertop - Advice needed

So, I installed a Moen drinking-water faucet a couple weeks back, on our brand new Beverly Blue quartzite countertops...Yesterday, while straightening up for a party, I noticed a dark ring around the faucet. The ring is not unlike some other natural patterns in the quartzite, so no one was...

DIY Install - Fleck 5600SXT...Source from the River, or a internet company or water-specialist

So, how does one ensure getting an original Clack or Fleck? Even the local suppliers could source their stuff online, right?

DIY Install - Fleck 5600SXT...Source from the River, or a internet company or water-specialist

I am comfortable connecting/installing whatever Water Softener system I go with. I have city water in Northwest Phoenix...plan to go with something in the 48K grain size. Based on comments here, the Fleck 5600SXT seems like a no-brainer. But I don't see much in the way of...

    A small purchase opportunity

During my recent MasterBath project, I utilized this forum quite often to learn all things plumbing. So, figured I'd give back a little (a very little). Project is complete, and like all major projects, I have extra parts. For Michigan members, I live in Canton, work in Dearborn, check this...

Shower drain, horizontal direction changes and dry vent challenge

I Made it work. And, met code for the drain, vent, and necessary clean out due to number of turns. It was tight for slope but I made the 1/4" per foot drop all the way around. By using street long-90's by the vent, I was even able to have all 3 90s be long ones, rather than three shorts in my...

Shower drain, horizontal direction changes and dry vent challenge

No one? When I re-design for the drain to have optimal flow, I end up with a 4' dry vent running almost horizontal to the the wall. Seems to me, a very strong drain flow and marginal vent would increase likelihood of siphoning...so I think I'm back to doing the first implementation, but...

Shower drain, horizontal direction changes and dry vent challenge

Removed the floor adjacent to work area. Seems it's going to be tough to fix?.. how can I remove one of these couplers/bends without damaging enough pipe to patch in to??? Edit: heat gun worked, new work is now removed. Looking for routing ideas that allow for dry vent and few 90's Bottom...

Shower drain, horizontal direction changes and dry vent challenge

Thanks for responding. Maybe Attached pic will help. Note the vertical pipe and tissue is temporary to leak test the p-trap. Water was seeping out of my non-glued side of trap.

Shower drain, horizontal direction changes and dry vent challenge

DIYer doing a significant remodel of our 2nd floor master bath. We removed our old tub, along with the adjacent shower, including a wall between the two (this wall had the vent line for both tub and shower. We replaced this space with a larger walk in shower, to include a new wall. In trying...
