How to fix this delta shower?

Thanks for the information. It would seem I have the old RP19804. I took out the cartridge. Turned it 180 degree and reinstalled it. Seems to have solved the problem.

How to fix this delta shower?

Hi all, I bought my home 3 years ago and have not yet dealt with this Delta shower. The issue is that it is installed backwards. The cold is really hot and when I move it towards hot, it becomes cooler. However, it never turns really cold. So it is dangerous and the bathroom is useless in summer...

Thanks Dana and thanks Stuff. I have relied on this forum so many times. I have never been disappointed.

    GP51MP-24B-045-1 C-wire

Thanks Stuff. It is all fixed now. Turns out that the problem was not the 24 v circuit but the 240 v circuit. I bought this home in Nov 2017. Turns out that when the last owner upgraded the breaker panel, the electrician did not connect the negative terminal to the AC circuit breaker. This also...

    GP51MP-24B-045-1 C-wire

I took the c-wire off the furnace and reinstalled it. I also took all wires off the thermostat and reinstalled them. It then just worked. However cannot celebrate too much. There is no cooling now.

Thanks Jadnashua. The nest is completely ok now. It has accepted the c-wire and the wiring looks perfect. However, when I ask it to cool, it sends a signal to the furnace, the fan at the furnace starts but the outside condenser does not start. How does one go around to troubleshoot this.

    GP51MP-24B-045-1 C-wire

Thanks Dana. I looked at the control board wiring diagram. The 50M56U-843 control board says that the C wire should be on 24V relative to Y. There is no voltage across these two wires even at the furnace control board. Is the control board somehow messed up?

    GP51MP-24B-045-1 C-wire

Hi all, Yesterday I went to install the Nest thermostat on my furnace and now I am completely puzzled. The events unfolded like this: 1. Nest wiring and back plate installed. Power turned back on. Checked for voltage across: C and Y- 24V C and G- 24 V C and Rh- 1.9 V 2. Put Nest cover on. It...

    GP51MP-24B-045-1 Hot Surface Ignitor replacement

$350 later, everything's working now. I bought that board from HVACmegastore. They sell HVAC related stuff online. Supposedly they have their own website too. What complicated matters was that they said, "we will take it back and give you 100% refund if a HVAC professionally done the board as...

    GP51MP-24B-045-1 Hot Surface Ignitor replacement

Diagnosed to a bad control board. Kicking myself right now. But it was a great learning experience. Also, the burner cover was glued shut by the passing which had melted and glued things together. Thanks so much Stuff and Jadnashua. You guys were right all along.

    GP51MP-24B-045-1 Hot Surface Ignitor replacement

Between the two leads of the wire there is an ohm of 0.3. With the low microAmp/milliAmp it is supposed to deliver is this OK?

    GP51MP-24B-045-1 Hot Surface Ignitor replacement

Thank you Stuff and jadnashua. I have no idea is this is a closed combustion chamber. It could be a bad wiring. What should I expect when I ohm out the wiring? It should be 0, right? It could be a misaligned/bad sensor or bad replacement board. I do not know as yet. Let me ohm out the wiring...

    GP51MP-24B-045-1 Hot Surface Ignitor replacement

I am now convinced that it is the flame sensor or the board. A new flame sensor is on the way. I will contact my seller to see if he can send me a replacement ASAP. I have the HVAC guy coming in on Thursday. Hopefully things are resolved until then. Else, he might have an opinion. At this...

    GP51MP-24B-045-1 Hot Surface Ignitor replacement

Hi Stuff, Removing the flame sensor makes absolutely no difference. The furnace behaves identically to work and without the flame sensor Could the flame sensor have gone bad?

    GP51MP-24B-045-1 Hot Surface Ignitor replacement

Hi Stuff, Thanks. Here are the action items: 1. I will try the flame sensor disconnected. Not sure what to expect, but let's see. 2. I have ordered a new flame sensor just in case it makes the difference. 3. I will bypass the switch by connecting the two leads together. Will let you know. 4. I...

    GP51MP-24B-045-1 Hot Surface Ignitor replacement

Hi Stuff, I just measure the resistance across the Hi Temperature limit switch. It was 1.5 ohms. Does it mean that the switch is bad? Let me know what you think? Thanks once again for the help and putting up with my questions and lack of skills.

    GP51MP-24B-045-1 Hot Surface Ignitor replacement

So I had a thought and measured again. The resistance between FS lead and ground is infinity. The Vac is 20. But I could not measure current. The Aac was zero. What does this mean? If this is not meaningful, let me know I can redo this quickly. The flame sensor is in pretty inaccessible place...
