    Smelly Vanity Cold Water

I am having a problem with my cold water in my vanity, it has a sewer smell. It is definitely only the cold water line at only this sink, all others (shower, kitchen sink, toilet) are good with no smell. I have pex lines throughout the house. I replaced the flex line that goes to the faucet...

    Toilet Flange Fitment

I am installing a toilet flange over a 3" PVC pipe. It is a Oatley with the steel ring. My problem is that is does not go all the way on, seems about halfway then gets really tight. Is this normal, is it tapered? How much does it need to be inserted? I have the pipe cut flush with the floor. Thanks

    Toilet Flange Step

I am installing a metal ring toilet flange onto of my newly tile floor. The flange has a shoulder on the underside that is about an 1/8" lower than the metal flange, so it hits the floor and leaves a gap under the metal flange. Is this right? Do I need to open the hole up to let the flange sit...

    Faucet Supply Line Connect

I have a Moen single handle kitchen faucet that I got used for my laundry room. My problem is that the faucet supply line fitting does not match anything I can find to connect to. All the shutoff valves seem to be compression or flat fittings, this has a flare on the end. What do I need to look...

    Toilet Flange to Cast Iron

I am getting ready to tile my bathroom floor. I had a cast iron flange that was leaded on. I removed it so now I have a 4" elbow coming up to the floor. It sits about a 1/2" below. I bought a compression type flange to go on the outside. Will this work? My concern is that the wax ring won't seal...

    Moen Posi Temp Valve

I am installing a Moen shower/tub valve into a rough opening. I got where to install it as far as the depth goes. My question is why do I need to cut a 4 1/2" hole. The center cartridge is all that sticks out through the wall. I'm not using the temp stops and do have access from behind. If...

    Plywood under Cast Iron Tub

This may seem like a stupid question, but here goes. I am installing a Villager cast tub. My floor joists run left to right (drain to end wall).I have 3/4 subfloor running diagonally and installing 5/8 plywood over top. If I was to run the plywood perpendicular to the joists I would have to seam...

    Metal Toilet Flange

New to the forums. I, well we, decided to redo our bathroom. We are in the demo stage when we ran across this problem. There was a rusted out metal toilet flange so I knew I needed to replace it. It was leaded in, so I removed it. Now the problem is that it is an elbow. I was going to get an...
