so a aav is a nogo anywhere on a washer? I have read and seen it used on washers before on sites although i know not all diy sites can be trusted. I may be able to run the horizontal lower if i replace a large section of piping ( around 12' ) to where it tees off to the upstairs tub/sink branch...

I took out the sheetrock to run some wiring and found something my contractor did thats not right. He ran the drain for the washer without a p-trap or vent and the horizontal sloped pipe going to the main drain line is only maybe 8" lower then the drain/supply box. I of course need to fix this...
