Thank you cacher_chick, i understand now about the tub spout. I was planning on using 3/4 inch PEX with a 3/4 inch PEX to 1/2 inch NPT connection to the valve. Thanks again for the help. I see from your avatar that you are from Wisconsin. I live now in Houston but grew up in Rockford...

    PEX for shower plumbing

Hi, I've read in a couple of places that PEX was not recommended for the drop from a shower valve to the tub spout and should not be used from the valve to the shower head. I'm not sure i understand why. I am hoping to use PEX in my shower from the pressure balance valve to the diverter...

    toilet flange removal

Thanks for the information. I haven't measured, but I believe I have a three inch drain. I'll check tonight when I get home. I'm going to have a tiled finish floor and I assumed I secured the flange to the subfloor and then used a flange extension to raise it to the height of the tile.

    toilet flange removal

Hi, In my master bath remodel, I'm planning on removing the old toilet flange and replacing it with a newer one. The house was built in the early 80s and looks like a metal flange glued to the ABS drain pipe. The flange sits inside the ABS pipe. What is the best way to remove the old...

glav Steel to PEX bathroom remodel

Each of the devices by themselves has a max flow rate of 2.5 GPM. So, together the max would be 7.5 GPM if you ran all together. The connections into the control valve and the diverter valve are all 1/2 NPT so doesn't that pretty much restrict what the max flow is going to be anyway? With the...

    PEX brand recommendation

I live in a home built in the early 80s and I'm looking at remodeling my master bathroom. I would like to take that time to replace the old galvanized steel pipes in the master bathroom with PEX. There are many brands out there and I was wondering what advice the forum may have as to which...

kerdi shower base with liquid waterproofing on the wall

Thanks for all the great advice. I'm definitely going to stick with one brand/methodology and not mix now. I believe I'm going to go with the sheet membrane approach. I have to admit, after searching around and reading through information on the internet, I'm liking the proline drains more...
