    Even though you put a new pressure switch; doesn't mean it's preadjuated properly. Did you adjust it? When you replace it, you should of seen water come out the nipple which would determine what LLigetfa suggested. Like ballvalve said, buy a new psi gauge and see.

    There are lots of pump manufacturers B16 is likely the ANSI number. 25 is likely the number of stages the pump has. The Franklin control box might show that pump brand name on it; I know that Goulds pumps does put their Goulds sticker on the Franklin control box.

    You 2 are drawing water from 2 different aquifers. It's like 2 different underground rivers and yours could be coming from a totally different area where mountains or hills are.

    Popping sound is definitely from air bubbles from running dry. If you have a deep well pump, like LLigetfa said, the well is likely running dry.
