    Wall drain location too high

Well, I can't remove the cabinets, and with the drywall and further compromising the studs - its not a solution, nor simple. I could cap A and then just to a vertical drain at B through the floor. The vent for this would be approximately 52" away at C, and it is below the weir. AAVs are not...

    Wall drain location too high

Hello all, I've seen some suggestions here and on other sites about this issue. We have new cabinets, countertop, and deeper sink. The wall drain was installed about 20" above the finished floor, and now the trap weir would be 2" above the disposal outlet. My wall drain for the kitchen is under...

American Standard Champion 4 toilet review and pictures

I just wanted to chime in on the AS Champion 4. I bought it because the MaP rating by CA https://www.map-testing.com/ rated it very well on flushing capability. Our older 1.6 gpf toilets clogged several times per week, so that was my main concern. I own 2, installed about 6 months apart. One...

Champion toilet bolt caps. No tool toilet bolt nuts and cap

Well, I guess secondarily, where can I get non-cedar shims? I've asked at the big box stores, and they had never heard of plastic shims or otherwise for toilets. The instructions from American Standard actually say to caulk the toilet before install, but experience and general knowledge tell...

Champion toilet bolt caps. No tool toilet bolt nuts and cap

I'm trying to find these toilet nuts that came in an American Standard Champion 4 kit. The new kits have these new bolts and include the soft close seat. Anyway, I want to replace the fasteners on an existing toilet that has a slight wobble. Ever so slight, you need to give it a little force...

How to connect a female threaded shower valve

I agree. I ended up using threaded 1/2" PEX adapters, then just running the pex to the valve. No soldering involved. I used teflon tape just because I've never used pipe dope on pressurized lines before.

How to connect a female threaded shower valve

You can't solder anything into the valve assembly, they are female threads. Thanks. I'll probably just run it in PEX with the brass male thread fittings into the valve and a pex drop elbow for the shower as well.

How to connect a female threaded shower valve

I've never installed a shower valve, and the instructions are laughable. However, it is a new Moen with female threads for each supply and output. As opposed to brass fittings with male threads, you cannot directly solder to the valve as an alternative. As a secondary question, I read to both...
