Thanks. I will check to make sure I have an unused switch wire from the tank.

Two wells to one storage tank

I have had one well running a cyclesensor and pumping to a storage tank with a float switch for cutoff when full. I have added a second well pumping to the same storage tank. I would like to alternate pumps when one hits a dry cycle. All wiring to both wells is centralized.

    Electric valve question

If we have a line failure in the field, the line pump will shut off when the storage tank drops to half. However, the water will continue to gravity feed the leak at the failure until the storage is drained. I need a valve to stop the gravity feed when the line pump shuts off due to low level...

    Electric valve question

LIvestock watering system with well pumping to a storage tank and a line pump from the storage to the field. Storage tank is on high point of property. Line pump is 40 feet lower than storage. I have a float valve to shut off the line pump when tank gets to half. However, if we have a...

    Collapsed casing? Any solutions?

Thanks. I guess we'll see how things go with the low pressure cutoff.

    Collapsed casing? Any solutions?

Any suggestions on pump protection? We have a low pressure cutoff on the line now.

    Collapsed casing? Any solutions?

Thanks guys. We tried a 3" weighted pipe and got it past the constriction and then... We got the new 3" pump (Grundfos 10SQ10-290) to depth and we are back to original flow. That is the good news. Bad news. The Pumptec, after running for 5 minutes or so, shows Load and Voltage lights...

    Collapsed casing? Any solutions?

Thanks for the reply. The consensus on the casing problem seems to be minor earthquake activity in the area. Nobody mentioned a 3" pump. Could we pull the present pump and use a 3" diameter weight to assess clearance?

    Collapsed casing? Any solutions?

4" pvc cased well. 200' deep static water level 60' well is approximately 30 years old. Old pump went out and was unable to be pulled, pvc broke at pump. Pump is at the bottom of the well. New pump will not go past 100'. Well is really unusable due to decreased available water. We...

    Renovate old well

Thanks for the responses. Does the square plate sitting on the ground in the second picture remain in the ground? Is it attached to the casing? It is hard for me to visualize what stays and what is lifted up. The 2" galvanized making it heavy enough to seem still attached makes perfect...

    Renovate old well

I have an old well on my property and am trying to remove the old pump. I have knocked all bolts/nuts off and still can't get the flange? off. How should I proceed from this point? I have removed 4 bolts that allowed me to elevate the flange you see elevated in the second picture. 4 more...
