    Stump Removal

Thank you very much for the video! Now I remember. Stump King didn't pull it out, he ground it up. And he said he couldn't do the one near the house.

    Stump Removal

Thanks, but it's a couple feet from the house on one side and right up against the walkway on the other. We had a stump in the front of the house pulled out and at that time they guy indicated he couldn't do that one.

    Stump Removal

I would like to get rid of a tree stump that is starting to rot and is just a couple feet from the house, I guess mainly because I'm afraid it will start getting a lot of insects. It is too close to the walkway to have it pulled out. I have a container of Hi-Yield Stump Remover which contains...

    water line replacement

So we have had 3 plumbers come out and give estimates. One wants to use copper, 2 want to use pex. So now the choice. Several people have suggested HDPE, but that has not been offered. But you know, we have moles in our yard from time to time and I have read that varmints chew through pex...

    water line replacement

We did have our electrical panel replaced recently and the electricians pounded a couple posts into the ground. Maybe that does it? I was wondering how the house is grounded if you replace the pipe with plastic. We had O'Neill come out to give us an estimate and they would bore under the ground...

    water line replacement

Pretty sure it's galvanized. That's what we mostly have in the house. We've lived here 40 years....house was built in 1920, and only recently have we had any pipe problems.

MACPLUMB 777, What should we do about the grounding if they put in plastic pipe? Also, is there a meter or something that can detect a leak? Can metal pipes be located underground by means of some kind of metal detector?

    tuck pointing question

One side of our house needs tuck pointing and we need to choose a mason. Do most masons use a squeeze tube-type apparatus to put the mortar into the joints these days instead of an old fashioned trowel? Does it work as well? Thank you! Loretta

    creosote

Thank you, Gary. That's an interesting plan. We'll have to think about that. hj, we did call one place in Puyallup that several places recommended (we're in Seattle). They are not the size we need, though, even if they are in good enough shape, and there is just a point beyond which lack of...

Well, it's because they were that way when we moved in and my husband changed one to match the other, now that the other is rotting I would like to change it to match the one. I have uploaded a couple pictures to Imageshack for you to see...

    creosote

Hello! Our front porch roof is being supported by two railroad ties. About 20 years ago one started to rot at the bottom and needed to be changed, so my husband just went up to the neighborhood lumberyard and picked up a new one. Now the other one is rotting and I have been trying to find...
