    Bathroom framing question

Depends on how tall your walls are. For 8' and lower, you can add them at 4' for perimeter nailing for horizontal drywall. If you're going vertical with the drywall I would not worry about it. Don't forget to add blocking for tub surrounds, towel hooks, towel racks, TP holders, etc.

Sliding glass door giving me fits

There is typically a bracket that holds it in against the jamb opposite of the pull handle. Do you have a bracket screwed in there? If so, unscrew it and pull the fixed side out. Isn't the center bar part of the stationary side and not an independent securable piece?

    Gas Pipe Inside Cabinet

No offense. But you shouldn't be messing around with gas. Have a plumber come over and do it the correct way. Faulty workmanship can be catastrophic.

    framing garage door

A 4x4 has a higher liklelyhood of bowing and twisting. I would use a double jack and pre-drill for the lags.

    Best "roto Zip"

I have the cordless RotoZip. It works well for smaller applications. I also have the corded Dewalt hole saw. I use it less but it also works well.

    framing garage door

No. The double 2x4 top plate holds the wall straight. I would use a double jack and a king stud. I never set my tracks on the jacks. I add a 2x6 to the face of the jacks and king stud to receive the tracks.

Cinderblock Wall - Drywall sheet or "mudding"?

I would fur out the walls and install the drywall on the furring strip. Do you mean add extension rings on the electrical boxes and not raising them? Extensions are very cheap. Why would it be quieter? If you're concerned about sound, you can add insulation between the furring strips.

    Question about a basement leak

Three things I can think of but they were all already mentioned. 1- Soil is more permeable when its not compacted. Water can be pooling up against the foundation where the cave in was and following the path of the foundation until it finds a crack. 2- Check for proper grading. 3- Put...

What's so bad about NYC? Ever live there? Besides, I was using the NYC comparison to emphasize how valuable real estate can be as compared to a swamp, not how livable.

    What would you do?

Location, location, location. If its in a swamp its a bad buy. If its in New York City then its a great buy. It all depends on the locations. I can't see it from here.

    Exterior tile and grout failing.

Sounds like your porch floor is too weak and flexing too much. Unfortunately, they should have told you that the deck was too weak as a professional but they technically don't have to.
