Two Delta Diverters Used like a 3-Way Light Switch?

As I understand it, a diverter is intended to choose which way the water flows, but not to seal a pressurized pipe. Your plan might work, but only if you turn the water on/off at the valve before/after showering. Otherwise, the diverters will dribble all night long.

Would a Sprinkler Pump Work For This?

Just curious....why not use (say) 3/4-in or even 1-inch PVC rather than copper? The PVC would be way cheaper, and you'd have a lot less head loss.

How to know if new wax ring is leaking just a little?

If you can't detect any liquid, nor any smell, I think it's unlikely you have a leak. But definitely do keep an eye (and nose) on it. Also, I wouldn't grout the toilet footprint at all, it makes it much harder to determine any future leak.

Water Coming Up Toilet Overflow Tube

Not a plumber. But from your notes I gather that: o All three toilets behave the same way. o All three toilets function just fine. Maybe...it's designed that way (no idea why). As a programmer might say, "that's not a bug, it's a feature!!". BTW, what brand are they?

    Accommodations for journeyman exam?

I would go directly to the state licensing agency before scheduling a new test. They have an affirmative legal requirement to make accommodation for disabilities. The agency may need you to get a statement from a physician detailing your special needs. But I would talk to them first, they may...

    Old toilet spud issue

Question, for my own education: Would it be OK to use a thin grease coating to help it go in more easily?

Toilet supply line with integrated shutoff valve - can this be purchased or alternatives

I too recommend Sharkbite. I've used both products Reach4 mentions, and had good results in every case. Just make sure: 1. You have a really clean, square end on your copper supply line; 2. Clean it up carefully to remove any burrs; 3. Be sure to insert the pipe the full depth required...

Can bathtub hardware be replaced w/o a full remodel?

It really depends on whether you can access the back side of the wall. In my house, for example, the tub/shower backs up to a closet. Access is a simple matter of unscrewing a painted sheet of plywood, and all the plumbing is visible. Even removing a piece of sheetrock is pretty simple. But...

    Why are my fittings leaking?!

I tried this last year, after I saw your post. It's been two growing seasons, and no leakage so far. Thanks for the tip!

How Poisonous is Oatey Purple Primer?

Correct. But the nasty part is the solvents, which are gone by the time you use the pipe.

How Poisonous is Oatey Purple Primer?

I looked at the SDS, and indeed, it's full of nasty stuff...but mostly if you breathe the fumes. I wouldn't worry too much about stainless cookware, it really won't absorb much at all. Also, all the listed components are somewhat polar, so at least partially water and alcohol soluble. It...

    Bath reno wallboard

I think it depends on where you live. Up here, no permit or inspection would be necessary for a renovation. But I think some areas are quite strict.

    Bath reno wallboard

I hear you on the weight of cement board...been there, done that. This might not pass an inspection, but I would either: a) attach some steel brackets to a couple of pieces of 2x4 cut to match the spacing between the left and right studs, then screw the brackets in place with a right-angle...

How Would You Install This Tub?

I installed this Swan tub a couple of years ago which had similar instructions. As you can see, it didn't have leveling feet, but had a bunch of little round nubs that support the tub. The mortar wasn't intended to be weight-bearing, it's purpose was to make the tub feel more solid after...

Water heater burst - Need cleanup advice

A picture might be helpful. Sounds like mineralization residue, from your description. Try a mix of vinegar and water. If that doesn't work well, try Lime-Away.

Leak at new washing machine supply

Personally, I would start by redoing the connection with an extra turn of teflon tape. Easy to do, and you can still move on to Plan B as needed.

Kohler vs Toto (quality & availability of parts)

I switched from a Kohler to a Toto Drake 1.6 gpf early this year. --I can't speak to parts availability, since I have had no problems so far. --The flush performance is startlingly better on the Toto. --The Toto bowl is much easier to clean (and requires it less frequently). However, the...

    Toto Drake water line ring

I installed a Toto Drake this past winter, and had the same question. So I called Toto and asked them. They said any commercial toilet bowl product, with or without bleach, is fine. So I use Clorox toilet bowl cleaner and cleaning spray, with no problems. What I gather you should not do (and...
