Plumbing Rough In Inspection - Test Ball Location

Sounds like a test tee is the way to go. Thanks all. (I also found the 8' to be odd. We'll probably do 10' even if the inspector doesn't require it.)

Plumbing Rough In Inspection - Test Ball Location

In my area, the plumbing rough-in is the plumbing work that's done before the slab is poured. We're slab on grade. In putting an additional bathroom on a house, I will be running a PVC DWV line through the slab, out to the yard, and tying it into the home's existing DWV line upstream of the...

PVC Schedule 40 & PVC DWV

My plumbing supply store said that I should use PVC DWV for all of the plumbing (even under/through the slab). The store said that the DWV is not solid core. Does that sound like the correct thing to use for slab on grade drain/vent plumbing?

    Bath Design (2012 IPC)

This is an addition, which is why there's no kitchen. (Good observation, though.) Based on your comments and the layout, I need to add a vent to the 1st story shower/tub and a vent to the 1st story sink, right? They are far apart on the layout, which is why I'm proposing a vent for each one...

    Bath Design (2012 IPC)

Does anyone see a code violation with this design? My municipality uses 2012 IPC. It's for stacked bathrooms, with lav, toilet, tub/shower + a washing machine in two-story home. Slab on grade, so the lower fittings are in the earth. I'm proposing 1.5" fittings for everything except the...

    Slab-on-Grade - Plumbing Exterior Wall

Thank you. So I can run the pipe through the footing. Is it better to dig way down and run it under the footing (assuming I can) so that it's not "stuck" in the slab for future maintenance purposes?

PVC Schedule 40 & PVC DWV

I am installing PVC for bathroom drains in a residential home that is slab-on-grade. Question 1: Should I use PVC Schedule 40 for pipes and fittings that are in and under the slab? Question 2: Assuming the answer to Question 1 is Yes. How do I transition from PVC Schedule 40 for those...

    Slab-on-Grade - Plumbing Exterior Wall

I failed to mention that this is a monolithic pour, so we'll be pouring cement for both the 2 ft deep x 1.5 ft wide footings at the same time that we pour the 5" slab.

    Slab-on-Grade - Plumbing Exterior Wall

I am add two bedrooms and bathrooms onto my home. The bathrooms will be stacked one on top of the other with the fixtures lined up like this: sink, toilet, tub/shower combo. Same thing on first and second floor. The plumbing and DWV will all be in the exterior wall (6" studs). I believe I...
