Fleck 5600sxt Brine Fill vs Draw (water not soft)

City water. I tested the hardness in the house and it is indeed at 0. I'll check when I believe it's not soft any longer. I'm usually pretty good at keeping salt in, but I'm pretty sure there was atleast a time where there was almost no salt (just the smalls at the bottom). I can't recall how I...

Fleck 5600sxt Brine Fill vs Draw (water not soft)

I've been dealing with some issues lately where the water just doesn't seem to be soft any more. Almost a 5 year old setup - 10" (54" tall) 1.5cube resin tank with Fleck 5600sxt and a 80-100lb salt tank (48k grain from AFWFilters/Amazon). I've recently ran some resin cleaner solution (Prores I...

Fleck 5600 SXT Inadequate Backwash = Hard water?

Update: I removed the check valves and just had the water softner hooked up to the drain pipe and ran a recharge. Seems like we're back in business. So now I need to find a less restrictive check valve or think of a different way to drain the dehumidifier and/or both.

Fleck 5600 SXT Inadequate Backwash = Hard water?

I recently noticed my water was still hard after having done a backwash. I re-tested my water and it didn't become more hard, so that should be fine. The one thing that did change is that I added a check valve to the backwash drain tube that pipes into a drain that is dedicated for the water...

1” pipe to 3/4” at water softener?

Took another look at the pipes at the water softener loop since I’m replacing my softener with a Fleck based unit - I just realized whoever put in the original dropped from 1” to 3/4” going into the softener and returns to 1” back out into the house. I understand you want to do this at the end...

    Shower Tile Grout

Florida code at the time (2013) had an exemption for liners if the shower was built into the foundation. As such, I don't think they went with a drain with weep holes. I'm leaning towards gutting the floor and installing new tile. Thoughts?

    Shower Tile Grout

The grout in floor of the shower chip out a couple months ago leaving a void to the concrete below (first floor, poured slab, no basement - Florida). The grouting throughout the house is pretty poor - a lot of hollow spots breaking showing a void to the bottom floor. Anyway, I knew I would have...
