    Add concrete under shower pan?

Okay - thank you - have mortar with a fair bit of sand, and will make a bunch of little piles.

    Add concrete under shower pan?

We are replacing a shower and have a fiberglass pan. The floor is pretty level and the new pan seems rest on the support rings, which go to the slab. (underside of pan shown in photo). I'm debating about trying to add concrete underneath the new pan (for instance in the voids under the curbs)...

leak in valve of 3-hole sink - replace it?

Thank you for the advice. Turns out it's a Pfister, seems to be from 2015. Pricey for something that failed in 8 years. According to this page, could be one of two cartridges...

leak in valve of 3-hole sink - replace it?

Hello... The hot tap/handle on our three-hole sink is leaking in the spot I'm pointing in the attached photo. (I've pulled off the handle to show it). It's the interface between the part that actually twists when you rotate the handle and the stationary housing of the valve. Given that, does...

Water hammer - without changing anything, intermittently

That's it! I think it has this extension on it that was throwing me off.... and the top trim ring is green, but pretty sure that's it (Pfister part 970-0770) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JTGQZPO?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_dp_BVPSE23W3XA91RSJVJGW

Water hammer - without changing anything, intermittently

Thank you! I haven't seen the knurled post coming out of this cartridge before. Google lens isn't coming up with a match for the face plate either.

Water hammer - without changing anything, intermittently

To prep for replacing the pressure-balancing cartridge, pulled it out, but not a brand name in sight. Does anyone recognize it>

Water hammer - without changing anything, intermittently

Recently, a few minutes into taking a shower, I'll hear pretty violent water hammer. It does NOT occur response to changing the valve in any way - not touching anything. It doesn't happen right away and also goes away after about 20 seconds, without changing anything. I'm trying to figure out...

    Delicate flange height adjustment

Thank you all. Agree, want something that inserts to a 3" hub, not 3" pipe. The IPS model looks great, but I'm not seeing a single long 3" hub-inserting model available anywhere online for DIY. Will call around to plumbing supply places once they're open.

    Delicate flange height adjustment

Thank you both. The flange goes into a 3" hub. Descriptions for the products seem conflicting - this example long flange says fits in 3" PCV pipe, but then also says a "hub fit". Those are two different diameters....

    Delicate flange height adjustment

Goal: I'm trying to move a toilet flange 1/2-3/4" upward. It's pictured just sitting in the hub until I figure out what to do. If I put it at the target final height it just barely touches the inside of the hub (not tight or securely/deeply). The height of the level (silver part) shows the...

    Replacing weird toilet flange

Thank you for the diagnosis, Terry - I will cut it all of, and put on a new extension and a typical elbow, that the flange inserts into.

    Replacing weird toilet flange

Redoing our whole bathroom, and after ripping out the subfloor, noticed . Hoping someone has seen this before! Maybe it's just normal and new to me. 1) Is this a normal elbow and the flange inserts into the elbow? (but I don't see a joint on the inside.) 2) is this a weird flange that goes...

Fitting2fitting junction - trying to salvage.

Hi Wayne - ahh - that makes sense. I was looking for a nipple and didn't see anything. so yes - you've must be right and there's a little section of pipe in there joining the two fittings. I'll get a socket save and drill it out, then let you know!

Fitting2fitting junction - trying to salvage.

Indeed - whoever came before me did that lovely job.

Fitting2fitting junction - trying to salvage.

I'm putting an in-wall toilet in our tiny bathroom, and so I'm redirecting the old the toilet waste pipe. There is a 90 degree sweep (shown in photo) that I need to rotate (or replace and rotate) 45 degrees as shown by the red arrow, so it points towards the wall and can hook up to the new...
