Kitchen remodel, new sink backs up & drains very slow

I can't believe I did that. I actually had the correct one but in my haste installed the regular 90. How much of a problem might this create? I can replace it easy enough but probably won't have a chance to get to it until spring time. That photo just shows where I taped my house wrap back...

Kitchen remodel, new sink backs up & drains very slow

Well, it's done. I wanted to post this in case it could possibly help someone in the future. Again, all the help/advice has been much appreciated!! - As I mentioned the outer wall is covered in vertical cedar siding which was the first step in the fix. Thanks to a few choice videos on the WWW...

Kitchen remodel, new sink backs up & drains very slow

I just wanted to give everyone an update to the status of this project. Hopefully it will be helpful to someone in the future. After following Reach4's advice and checking the direction of flow I realized that the drain did not go straight down like I originally thought...it actually runs left...

Kitchen remodel, new sink backs up & drains very slow

That's a great idea but I'm SOL on that one. It's under a window of an exterior wall. Good advice nonetheless.

Kitchen remodel, new sink backs up & drains very slow

Hey T.R., That's kind of my plan. I hadn't thought about a clean out though. That's a great idea. I have a little time to think it through properly since my next step is onto the back splash. Hope to have that done by the weekend and maybe tackle the plumbing over the weekend. I really...

Kitchen remodel, new sink backs up & drains very slow

That's exactly the situation I'm in...a 10" deep sink. Plus it's an under mount so I'm loosing even more. Oh well, at least it can be remedied with a little more time and $$. Thanks!!

Kitchen remodel, new sink backs up & drains very slow

T.R. and A.F.D, thanks for your replies. Your info is not what I wanted to hear but exactly what I thought I would hear. The thought of cutting into my brand new cabinet makes me ill. Reach4...I've actually removed the splash shield completely and it made no difference. I don't think...

Kitchen remodel, new sink backs up & drains very slow

We're on the tail end of a full kitchen remodel and just had a new sink installed with a new garbage disposal this weekend. The old set-up never had draining issues but the new set-up is backing and drains very slowly. The main drain (in the wall) was disconnected for several weeks but capped...

High water pressure, Can anyone identify this?

I just wanted to follow up and let everyone know that I replaced the gage and it's been over a week now with no recurrence of the issue. Thanks for the advice and fingers crossed.

High water pressure, Can anyone identify this?

Alrighty, sounds like I'm gonna start with a new gage...definitely liquid filled. If that doesn't cure it, then a new PRV. Thanks guys and I'll post back in a few days with an update.

High water pressure, Can anyone identify this?

Yes, it's 0-200 and the needle covers that full range when this happens. My wife thinks our house is suddenly possessed, lol.

High water pressure, Can anyone identify this?

I should clarify "consistent", meaning that when the issue isn't happening it's very stable and consistent, when the issue occurs it's all over the gage. So without flow through the PRV, could it still behave that way?

High water pressure, Can anyone identify this?

Only because it responds correctly to adjustments and after running water it always returns to it's set pressure

High water pressure, Can anyone identify this?

This has been happening for a few weeks now and I can't find a solution. I'm afraid if this isn't fixed soon it's going to create leaks in my system. Here's what I do know: - I'm on county water...no well - County pressure stays pretty consistent @ 95 PSI - There is a pressure reducing valve...

Mixing valve problem...is it me or the valve(s)

Hi All, I wanted to come back and let everyone know that my project has been completed and I did finally get the valve to work. I thought it may be beneficial to someone in the future that makes the same mistake I made. At the point in time where I was making my initial temperature measurements...

Mixing valve problem...is it me or the valve(s)

Hi Smooky, I was actually measuring the temp with a digital thermometer. The strip was placed on the line at install and hasn't really had any attention given to it since then...Just part of the photo. I'm coming to the conclusion that it may be all about my supply temperatures. I've never...

Mixing valve problem...is it me or the valve(s)

Thanks Reach4 The information on how the supply temperature effects the mixed temp may be the key. I'm going to play around with my hot supply tonight to see if it makes any significant difference

Mixing valve problem...is it me or the valve(s)

I think that must be a result of shadowing or my bad photo skills. There was actually no flow through the line at the time this photo was taken so the temp shouldn't be registering on the strip

Mixing valve problem...is it me or the valve(s)

I should have referred to that as the mixed line instead of hot side. Yes the actual "hot" feed line is very warm
